Child Safety Standards

AppsBrains has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This page sets out our standards, how to report a concern, and who to contact — as required by Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy and Apple’s App Review Guidelines.

Effective: 6 August 2026 Zero tolerance for CSAE

1. Our Commitment

AppsBrains prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”) in every form, across every application and service we publish. We design, build and operate our apps so that children are protected, and we act immediately on every credible report.

Zero tolerance. Any account found to create, upload, share, solicit or seek child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or to engage in grooming, sextortion, child trafficking or any other form of child exploitation, is terminated permanently and reported to the relevant authorities.

2. Prohibited Conduct

The following are strictly forbidden across all AppsBrains apps and services:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any medium — image, video, audio, text, drawing or computer-generated;
  • Sexualisation of minors, including sexualised depictions of fictional or AI-generated minors;
  • Grooming — befriending or building trust with a minor for sexual purposes;
  • Sextortion — threatening to release intimate imagery of a minor;
  • Solicitation of, or offers to provide, CSAM;
  • Child trafficking, or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a minor;
  • Minor self-generated sexual content, including its solicitation or distribution;
  • Normalising, promoting or providing instructions for any of the above.

These rules apply to user-generated content, private messages, profile fields, usernames, avatars and any other surface in our apps.

3. How to Report

Anyone — user or not — can report suspected CSAE. Reports are prioritised above all other support traffic and reviewed by a trained member of our team.

In-app reporting

Use the Report control on any piece of content, profile or message. Choose the “Child safety” category.

Email us

Write to apps@appsbrains.co with the subject “CHILD SAFETY”. Include links, usernames, screenshots and timestamps where possible.

Acknowledgement within 24 hours

We confirm receipt and begin review immediately. Urgent reports are escalated the same day.

Action and escalation

We remove violating content, terminate accounts, preserve evidence as required by law, and report to the IWF/NCA, NCMEC and law enforcement as appropriate.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first (999 in the UK, 911 in the US). In the UK, report criminal imagery to the Internet Watch Foundation and abuse concerns to the NCA-CEOP. In the United States, report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. Elsewhere, find your national hotline via INHOPE.

4. How We Respond

StepActionTarget time
TriageReport acknowledged and classified by severityWithin 24 hours
Content removalViolating content removed and access blockedImmediately on confirmation
Account actionOffending account permanently terminated; device and signal-based bans appliedSame day
Evidence preservationRelevant data preserved securely for law enforcementImmediately, retained as legally required

Reporter follow-upOutcome communicated to the reporter where lawfulWithin 7 days

We cooperate fully with law enforcement and respond to valid legal process. We do not restore accounts terminated for CSAE violations.

5. Prevention by Design

Our apps are built with safeguards appropriate to their audience and features:

  • Age gating — apps that are not suitable for children require an age declaration, and features are restricted accordingly;
  • Safe defaults for minors — where accounts may belong to minors, profiles default to private, discovery is limited, and messaging from strangers is off by default;
  • Reporting and blocking — every social surface includes reporting and blocking controls that are easy to find;
  • Content moderation — automated screening of uploaded media combined with human review of escalations;
  • No behavioural advertising to children — apps in Google Play’s Families programme and Apple’s Kids Category serve no targeted advertising and collect no persistent identifiers beyond internal operations;
  • Staff training — team members handling reports are trained on CSAE identification, evidence handling and escalation;
  • Regular review — these standards and our moderation practices are reviewed at least annually.

6. Regulatory Compliance

We comply with, and design our processes around:

  • Google Play Child Safety Standards Policy and the Families Policy;
  • Apple App Review Guideline 1.2 (User-Generated Content) and the Kids Category requirements;
  • The UK Online Safety Act 2023 children’s safety duties;
  • The UK Age Appropriate Design Code (ICO Children’s Code);
  • Reporting of confirmed CSAM to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the UK, and to NCMEC where a report relates to users or content in the United States;
  • The U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), for users in the United States;
  • The EU Digital Services Act notice-and-action requirements.
